Welcome to Badsworth Parish Council

Badsworth is a lovely village situated in West Yorkshire and is approximately 10 miles South East of Wakefield and 10 miles North West of Doncaster. It has a population of approximately 650 people and is mainly a residential community centred round the Grade 1 Listed St Mary’s Parish Church and Badsworth Church of England Junior and Infant school.

Badsworth, in common with a lot of villages, has existed since before 1086 and is listed in the Doomsday Book as Badesuurde.

Parish Council Meeting

Badsworth Parish Council meet in the Lawson Hut, at 7:30pm on the 4th Wednesday of each month. There is no meeting in August and generally the December meeting will be a week earlier.

Annual Parish Meeting

The Annual Parish Meeting will take place on May 27th 2026. It is an opportunity for Badsworth residents to attend and share anything about Badsworth parish. The meeting is open to the press and members of the general public, however only persons on the current Badsworth electoral register have a right to speak at this meeting. Please see the Agenda when it is published, for further information.
